Dave Matthews Band is basically an American jam-band, which formed in 1991, in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. Matthews, a bar tender at the Miller's, was the man who initiated the idea of making a band and bringing the various members together. The current band members include Dave Matthews, Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, and Boyd Tinsley. LeRoi Moore and Peter Griesar are the two former yet founding members of the band. Moore remained a member of the band until his death last year, in August 2008.
