Dave Matthews Band is basically an American jam-band, which formed in 1991, in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. Matthews, a bar tender at the Miller's, was the man who initiated the idea of making a band and bringing the various members together. The current band members include Dave Matthews, Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, and Boyd Tinsley. LeRoi Moore and Peter Griesar are the two former yet founding members of the band. Moore remained a member of the band until his death last year, in August 2008. The Dave Matthews Band is a winner of two Grammy Awards, four My VH1 Music Awards, and one NAACP Chairman's Award. The band has also received three nominations for American Music Awards and six nominations for MTV Video Music Awards.
